Operating System

While the latest Microsoft Operating System is Windows Vista we can also supply these systems with the slightly older but more compatible Windows XP. Windows XP offers older game compatability, but does not offer DirectX 10 compatability which adds more detailed graphical effects in the latest games. Both 32 bit and 64bit versions are available (currently 64 bit systems are not entirely supported by good drivers or all games).

Prices above include Windows XP Home or Windows Vista Home Basic

For Windows Vista Home Premium add £15.00+VAT which is £17.63

For Windows Vista Ultimate add £50.00+VAT which is £58.75

Notes

  • Above are some example builds for gaming machines.
  • The pricing on these systems is highly dependent on market forces, however the prices can be viewed as a reasonable guide to the different configurations.
  • Extra memory and other modifications are common with these systems, so please contact us for details or if you wish a SLI based system which can also be sourced and built for you.
  • We require a deposit to cover cancellation expenses if you wish to order these systems, as specialisation, depreciation and obsolescence are all part of the gamer system build and owning experience. The balance of the system price would be payable on delivery or pickup.

Graphics card speeds

We match the system specification to each card used, so the differences in performance are amplified as you go up our ranges beyond just the performance of the graphics card.

But here is the rough speed performance of the enhanced cards we use verses a basic onboard graphics solution.

  • Basic graphics card offered in budget systems (e.g. 7300 series) onboard times 2
  • 8500 series (as used in our entry level gamer) onboard times 5
  • 8600 series (as used in our low end gamer) onboard times 13
  • 8800 series (as used in our mid range gamer) onboard times 27

Warranty

We offer a 1 year parts warranty on these systems along with a 3 year labour warranty. This also covers labour costs on basic upgrades if you buy these from us.

Gaming systems are designed for speed and gaming, so are not ideal for use with business data or important information. Basically with the extra heat and stress, components do not last as long as in a standard (hardly used) PC. However with good backup regimes all our gaming systems also make excellent home systems for video, photo and general purpose use.
